Staff Pick of the Month – September
Every month, we hand the reins over to one of the iRIDE team to share a product they genuinely use, trust, and rate. These aren’t just products sitting on the shelf — they’re pieces of kit that have earned their place through real-world riding.
Cycles mountain bike.
What's your Pick: S-Works Prevail helmet
Why: Having ridden many helmets over the years, the Prevail strikes an ideal balance between safety, weight, ventilation, and — most importantly and often overlooked — eyewear retention. This helmet fits me better than most, ventilates extremely well, is light enough that I need to check if I've got it on when I'm wearing a cycling cap, and it holds my glasses securely and quietly when they are not required. The other helmet that I have used extensively over the past year has been the Sweet Protection Falconer, which is a fantastic helmet for all of the same reasons as the Prevail, except for the ventilation, and this makes a real difference on long climbs and in general sunny-weather riding. Added to this, the MIPS Air Node — which integrates into the helmet padding, losing the traditional yellow layer — adds to the overall fit, comfort, and feeling of safety.
Not only are these helmets on sale with Specialized this month down to $350 from $500, but purchase one from us and we'll include an iRIDe drink bottle too! (Reword this as you wish Eoin)
