XDS X-LAB AD9 Road Bike

The XDS X-LAB AD9 Road Bike is built for riders who want maximum speed on the road. It blends aggressive aerodynamics with a lightweight carbon construction to create a fast and efficient race machine. Deep aero tube profiles, dropped seat stays and a rear wheel cutout help smooth airflow and reduce drag. In addition, a fully integrated cockpit and internal cable routing complete the clean, race-ready design. The XDS-ASTANA team races the AD9 in the UCI WorldTour and Davide Ballerini rode a similar build in the 2025 Tour de France.

XDS uses advanced Toray T1100 and M40X carbon fibers to balance stiffness, durability and low weight. This structure improves power transfer during sprints and high-speed efforts while maintaining stability for long rides. Also, the bike features race-focused geometry with a low front end and responsive rear triangle to deliver precise handling and efficient acceleration.

The AD9 comes equipped with Shimano Dura-Ace Di2 12-speed electronic shifting and powerful hydraulic disc brakes for fast, reliable gear changes and confident stopping power. A Branta Carbon power meter crankset offers 1.0% accuracy, dual-sided measurement and 150 hours of runtime for crucial race effort data. Furthermore, a high-performance Branta C50 ULR carbon wheelset and Branta carbon one-piece handlebar complete the aerodynamic package.

With its advanced carbon construction, race-proven design and premium components, the XDS X-LAB AD9 delivers a complete aero road bike built for speed, efficiency and modern road racing performance.

Crank lengths and handlebar sizes vary with each frame size, please see the Geometry tab for sizing.

Key Features of the XDS X-LAB AD9

  • Aero Tested Design: Aero frame shape with a streamlined seat tube, fork and seatstays lets the frame slip through the air, conserving watts.
  • Race-Ready Build: The X-LAB AD9 comes with Shimano DURA-ACE 12-Speed Di2 components. XDS swap out the Shimano crankset for a Branta carbon fiber power meter crankset, adding versatility for training and race-day analytics.
  • Lightweight, Aero Wheelset: In addition, this bike comes equipped with a high-performing Branta C50 ULR carbon wheelset. Featuring a deep profile and carbon bladed spokes, it comes in at only 1230 grams.
  • Modern Compatibility: The rear UDH derailleur hanger keeps this bike current and compatible with most drivetrain configurations.
  • Rigorous Quality Control: Extensive testing to ISO and ASTM standards makes this frame UCI compliant, and XDS back themselves with a lifetime warranty on the frame, fork and carbon wheelset.

Compatibility

The XDS X-LAB AD9 Road Bike is widely compatible with most modern road components. It is compatible with wheelsets that are disc brake and use 12×100 mm front and 12×142 mm rear thru axles. In addition, this bike uses a T47 86mm threaded bottom bracket shell, and uses a UDH rear derailleur hanger. See Compatibility tab for more information.

Considerations

The fully-internal cable routing is optimized for the included Branta one-piece handlebar. Therefore, using your own barstem is not seamless. Moreover, the geometry of the AD9 is optimized for performance and speed, so it is less suited for ultra-endurance events.
